GLMX #41: The Decline and Fall of America and Her Only Hope to Make a Comeback

Is there hope for America? Will we become the great nation that we are capable of becoming? Or will we slip deeper and deeper into moral and spiritual decline?

The good news is that there is hope for America! But only if we humbly bow before God in prayer and confession. Will you join in this profound prayer? If we truly pray this prayer in believing faith we–and our nation–will never be the same.

GLMX #40: As We Remember the Tragic Day of September 11, 2001, Let Us Keep In Mind that Jesus Christ said “I Am the Resurrection and the Life”

“Where were you on September 11, 2001?”

Well, I was in my church office working. I had just finished conducting a chapel meeting with the students and teachers of our elementary school. My secretary came in late that morning, and told me to cut on the television. At the time, I did not own a television, so I borrowed one from a friend and turned it on to one of the national news channels, and like millions of others, I was stunned.

Words fail to describe the unbelievable tragedy–the devastation–of that fateful day. At 8:45 a.m., a plane hijacked by terrorists crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. Minutes later, another plane hurtled into the south tower. Massive explosions ripped through multiple floors of both office buildings. As terrified employees on the lower floors scrambled to evacuate, miles away a third plane slammed into the Pentagon building in Washington, D.C. Before it could reach its intended target, a fourth plane nose-dived into a field in Pennsylvania, killing everyone aboard. Back in New York, onlookers watched in horror as one after another, the 110-story twin towers collapsed on the heads of rescue workers, firemen, and police officers.

In just a matter of moments–before anyone really understood what was going on–thousands of lives had been lost.

America was stunned. Nothing like this had ever happened in the history of the country, or even of the world. Politicians and pundits struggled to put the disaster in perspective, comparing it to such catastrophic events as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Oklahoma City Bombing. Others insisted that this was “the Pearl Harbor of the 21st century,” a “new Day of Infamy.” President Bush called the terrorist attacks “acts of war.” An entire generation would now be asking each other, “Where were you on September 11?”

Daniel Whyte III shares a compelling message of hope on the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

GLMX #39: The Hope for America and for You is Jesus Christ

Not too long ago Newsweek ranked America number 11 out of a list of 100 best countries in the world. Well, the financial crisis, the housing market crash, unemployment, a deterioration of family values and a breakdown of the family unit have led to America’s sad decline. But the most disturbing thing of all is that we have left God out of our homes, schools, workplaces, and government.

In 1863, in the midst of a national calamity, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed to the people of America: “It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history: that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord…

Is There Hope For America? Is there hope for you? In this Gospel Light Minute X broadcast, Daniel Whyte III shows the hope that God gave to mankind is still available for America and the world.

GLMX #36: Why Our Families Need Christ and Courageous Fathers

According to statistics, one-third of children in America (24 million) live without their biological father. Children without fathers are, on average, two to three times more likely to have educational and health problems, abuse drugs and alcohol, engage in criminal behavior, or commit suicide. USA Today reports that over the past 30 years, fathers have been disappearing from American families. Divorce is one of the main reasons fathers are absent from the home. Many of today’s fathers have two or even three jobs. Others travel weekly, taking them away from their families. Children whose fathers are involved in their lives are more confident, better able to deal with frustration, more likely to have high self-esteem, and more capable of gaining independence and their own identity according to Dadsworld.com.

There are certain factors that characterize a courageous father. In this Gospel Light Minute X edition, Daniel Whyte III shares reasons why families today need courageous fathers and introduces the audience to the most courageous Father of all.
